We hope you feel a warm welcome
We have all been in the situation of visiting a church for the first time either with a friend, family member, or just on our own. It is our desire that you feel comfortable and easily able to join in worship and fellowship. Let us know if this is your first visit. There are good things to know like where the Sunday school is for the kids, or what the adult ed class is for that day, or how to commune, or where to find the coffee and snacks after worship!
Following the Directions and Campus Map on the website, feel free to park in any of the lots as you make your way to the sanctuary, the largest building on the campus (this is also where the church offices are located). The worship services vary in musical style week to week, but all three services on any Sunday are the same.
Sundays: Services are at 8:30 and 10:00AM with Holy Communion distributed at every service and available to all worshipers. The worship style is blended.
Dress is casual. When you arrive, please fill out a visitor card located in the pew racks and place it in the plate during the offering. If you’d like to chat with a pastor, please indicate this. You will also find a Welcome brochure near the entrance that describes the many opportunities for getting to know people and helping to serve the wider community.
Hearing assisted devices and large print bulletins are available for those who need them. Please see the ushers for assistance.
For parents who need it, there is a glass walled room, the “Pray Ground” in the back of the sanctuary. Also, note that Sunday School “Learning Circles” start after the Children’s Message during the 8:30 am worship service. Please check where you will pick them up after the service.
We believe that Holy Communion is truly a gift from God and is therefore offered at every service and for all ages at the discretion of parents. You may commune either by “intinction” where the piece of bread (there is also a gluten free option) is dipped in wine or grape juice, or a common cup is offered as well.
If you have any questions feel free to call or email the church office. A pastor would be happy to talk with you. Click here if you would like to learn more about the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
It is our privilege to have you visit and we hope that you will find this a good place on your journey of faith. God’s blessings!
Interested in Joining?
Twice a year, a New Member Class is offered for those who are thinking about joining the congregation or are just interested in learning more about Christianity and a Lutheran perspective. Childcare is provided. During a Sunday service, there is a brief ceremony for installing new members. Every new member is paired with a sponsor to assist them during their first year.
If you would like to make Bethlehem your church home or if you would like more information, please make a note of that on a visitor card and place it in an offering plate this Sunday.
