Learning Circles
Learning Circles/Sunday School happens each week during the 10:30 service. We meet as one large group to begin in the Multi-Use/Library right after the Children’s Message. The children return to the sanctuary just before communion to participate with their families.
The curriculum that we are using for Learning Circles, “Spark ALL Kids,” is designed to group the children into “buddy pairs” with older children helping the younger children to participate in discussions and complete activities together.
Our curriculum focuses on some of the faith foundation stories of the Old Testament and explores the Life and Teachings of Jesus in the New Testament. We also have a monthly “music time” with one of our resident music teachers of the congregation.
This time is intended for children ages 3 – 6th grade. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Jana Hegg at childrensministry@blcenc.org.
First Communion Class
First Communion Classes for children in Kdg. – 5th Grade is scheduled each year at Bethlehem. The class reviews the history and meaning of communion and gives children an opportunity to ask questions at their level. There is an introduction/overview session, followed by First Communion and then a follow-up celebration. Families participate in the classes together!
Children’s Music
Check out musical opportunities for your children. In an age when music programs are being cut back in the schools, Bethlehem offers choirs, chimes, bells and bands, led by licensed music educators, to give your child exposure to a rich musical world.
