Welcome to Adventure Ministry!
Join us in outdoor adventures to make new friends, spend time with old friends, enjoy our beautiful area, and get some exercise, too. We plan to host an activity each quarter such as hiking, mountain biking, stand-up paddle boarding, camping and more. We welcome your ideas.
We’re looking forward to biking or hiking with you this Saturday, November 9th, at 9 am at Los Penasquitos Canyon Preserve:
Here are some important updates:
If you’re interested in carpooling, meet in the church parking lot at 8 am. Eileen and Suzi are riding together and can take two more people.
If you drive yourself take I-5 south to 56 East. Take 56 East to the Black Mountain Road exit. Head south on Black Mountain Road down the hill. Turn right at the bottom of the hill at the traffic light at Canyonside Park Driveway. Proceed west on Canyonside past the ballparks to the parking area. Look for Dennis and his grey Ford Ranger.
On Saturday, the weather should be in the 80’s and mostly sunny.
Trail conditions and recommendations
- The trail is a dirt road with some gravel and sand. Although the woods have poison oak, we will stay on the trail.
- Feel free to wear shorts. Don’t forget a hat.
- Wear your good, comfortable walking shoes; hiking boots aren’t required.
- Don’t forget sunscreen and water. You may want to bring a snack.
Be sure to bring a helmet. Your bike should have tires at least 1-1/2″ to 2″ wide. The trail is dirt with some gravel. E-bikes are OK if they have wide tires.
Although the round-trip hike to the waterfall is 6 miles, there are other, shorter options. If you don’t want to hike 6 miles, please join us anyway and we will show you the shorter hikes, such as to the ranch house.
If you’re planning to join us, please email Suzi so we know to watch for you: firstname.lastname@example.org
See you Saturday!
