At different times of the year, the Giving Tree has "Giving" projects. Here you can read about what the current project or need is and participate as you can.

April 2008.

The Lifestraw Project. For April, The Center for Global Awareness will focus on one aspect of poverty, access to clean water.  You can help ensure that children have an opportunity to drink clean water by donating to Lifestraw, a personal and portable plastic filtered straw, designed to turn most surface water into drinking water.  Lifestraw kills disease-causing microorganisms that spread cholera, diarrhea, dysentery and typhoid.  Please take a donation envelope from the Giving Tree and save the life of a child with each $4 purchase.

Two local assistant efforts we offer support to are Saint Andrew’s Episcopal Church Food Pantry and TACO. Please help these worthy causes throughout the year as you are able.

Continuing activities:

Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church Food Pantry.
Our church neighbor has a program to distribute food to those in need. There is a collection basket in the Narthex to place your donations. Donations should consist of products with a 'shelf life' . This would include canned, dried and package items or meals. Rice, beans, peanut butter and the like. Also, $10 and $25 grocery store gift cards are used for emergencies.
