"Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" And I said "Here am I; send me!" Isaiah 6:8
Nothing 'Just Happens' by itself, at home, at work or here at
Church. Our church is an operating business of We the Congregation. Many things must happen every day for this Church to be
ready for any member of the congregation when We need it. The operations are designed, directed and carried on daily without
our direct intervention. There are also many needs that must be overseen and carried out by We the Congregation on a weekly
and seasonal basis and these are the Volunteers who go quietly behind the scenes to make so much
of our church attendance a joyful and reverent experience.
WE need Volunteers and
this is where you can participate with other members of the congregation on a weekly, seasonal or event basis. An hour a week,
a 1-2 hour seasonal set-up or take-down, a seasonal decorating team or a weekly service assistant, a once a month coffee
server or a special event cleanup. It's all here and in the weekly announcements when opportunities arise. When
our seasons change, Volunteer! When we have a luncheon, Volunteer!
When we host Interfaith Homeless shelter, Volunteer! When Easter comes around, Volunteer!
When WE do almost anything at our church, WE always need Volunteers to set-up, take-down, arrange
and clean in order for it to function smoothly. You can make a difference in the quality of our church experience by Volunteering
as often as you can. Most Volunteer opportunities are for 30 minutes to 1 hour of your time.
The more Volunteers on a task, the less time it takes and then We the Congregation do not over-burden, stress and abuse
the faithful who serve us, no matter what. They are there every day and they need your help, just once in-a-while on a regular
basis.
Please see if you can find a Volunteer Opportunity in
this weeks announcements.
We the Congregation, Thank You!
Oh, by the way, this website is designed
and maintained by a Volunteer!

never make an extra trip to the church. The simple duties include washing chalices and bread plates; refilling plates with
wafers or bread; and refilling pitchers with wine. You work only 4 to six times per six month period. Training takes 30 minutes
or less, and is scheduled at your convenience. Please call Rhonda Houck 760.415.2134 or email houck3@cox.net if you would like to serve Bethlehem with us.

Thank you for a job well done! Volunteers spent three Saturday mornings in January and February 2007 painting the
Pastor's office, the copy room, the sacristy, the conference room and the office hallway. Our youngest painter was Kennice Cowles and the one who came the farthest was
Jeannie Colling from Seattle. The other painters were Dennis Astroth, Bruce Dugmore, John Davis, Gary Kloehn, John Lawver,
Jim Cowles, Cheryl Jordheim Mary Hartzell, Nate Anderson and Bart Smith.
Nick Mastrogany, Eagle Scout Project Update: I would like to thank
everyone in the congregation who supported my project with their donations &/or volunteered their
time. My project, which started last September, consisted of constructing a 70 x 4 foot concrete sidewalk adjacent
to the childcare center. I also constructed two redwood stand-up planter boxes for the children to plant seeds and learn about
growing things. The sidewalk and planter boxes are located on the left side of the childcare center, up the stairs from the
parking lot, and adjacent to the Ades Greenhouse property. I learned a lot doing this project, and I was happy I could give
back to the church while fulfilling my Boy Scout Eagle project. I really appreciate your support.
