Our Music Ministry includes Children's Choir, Teen Rock, Good News Singers, Handbell Ensemble and High School Band Ensemble.
Monna Goetsch ~ Music Director, ext 28
This is Monna's fifthteenth year as a member of Bethlehem and as the Director of Music. She has a B.M. from Southern IL University-Carbondale and a M.M. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has taught K-12 in public and private schools. Raised in the Lutheran tradition, she has directed adult, children, youth and handbell choirs in God's service. She teaches K-6 music at Del Mar Pines School, as well as, at the Nativity School in Rancho Santa Fe. Mona is married Steve, and they have a son, David.

Rehearse on Sundays 10:15-10:45 a.m. in the Family Center.



Good News Singers

Rehearse on Thursdays. The first two  at 7:00 - 8:30 PM, thereafter, at 7:22 - 8:45 PM.


Handbell Choir

Rehearse on Thursdays from 6PM to 7:15PM

Good News Singers  (Adult Chior)
The choir rehearses on Thursday nights and sings throughout the year. The group is a non-audition choir. We accomodate busy schedules and encourage your participation.

Children's Choir
For children who can read through 6th grade, ages 5 ~ 12, meet in the Family Center Sunday's at 10:15am ~ 10:45am.

Festival Choir
A seasonal choir for those who like to sing but have busy schedules. This group sings only at Reformation, Christmas, and Easter. You commit to two or three rehearsals for the singing performance.


Social Events
The Good News singers had their final choir party at Monna's house. Asl any choir member about the kazoo game!


Christmas Harp
For the past 24 Christmas Eves, we have enjoyed the gift of harp music from Melissa Morgan. Her music is always a joy to hear and, in fact, has been put on CD by Melissa Morgan. If you are interested in her recorded work, please contact the music ministry with your inquiry.

TEEN ROCK!

Marilyn has been a part of Teen Rock for six years as lead coordinator of the group. Marilyn brings a wealth of musical experience to our staff. For twelve years, she was part of the music team of Willow Creek Community Church near Chicago. Working with High School youth has been a priority as she has been a youth counselor, camp counselor and Youth Life leader.

After receiving her BSN and MBA, she spent seven months as a medical missionary in Zaire/Congo, Africa, teaching medicine, music and sports. She currently works at UCSD in Hospital Administration.

Other Opportunities

 

Vocal Soloist: Share your talent when your schedule permits.

 

Instrumental Solo or Ensemble: Share your talent when your schedule permits. OR

Play for Christmas or in the Church Band that plays on special Sundays.

 

Small Group Singing: Sing in a duet, trio or Quartet.

 

Cantor: Lead the hymn singing and liturgy for the Sunday morning services. Provide a solo for the service.

 

Sunday School Song Leader:

Lead the singing of the K-4 students by using song transparencies, CD’s for the first 10 minutes of their Learning Circle Time. 9:00 and/or 10:30 services. Materials will be provided.
