Bethlehem Community
Preschool is a non-profit organization sponsored by the Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Our program is open to any child regardless
of race, religion or ancestry.
Our program is designed to meet the needs of the preschool age child, therefore children
enrolling in the fall sessions need to be three years old on or before December 2 to be eligible for admittance.
Each
child must be toilet trained and developmentally ready for the group experience to benefit from our program.
Before a
child's first day of school, we must have on file an Emergency Info Sheet, Family Info Sheet, and a Medical Statement
signed by your Doctor, including the record of immunizations.
Accreditation - N.A.E.Y.C.
As of August 1991 Bethlehem Community Preschool received accreditation the National
Academy of Early Childhood Programs (a division of NAEYC) for demonstrating substantial compliance with nationally recognized
criteria for high quality early childhood programs.
Bethlehem Community Preschool
Our school offers a balanced program with opportunity for your child to grow as and individual in
all areas of development. The first steps away from home are made comfortable, with caring adults who are trained to meet
your child's individual needs - in a safe, healthful environment.
We feel children learn best in a low-key, non-pressured
environment. Our teachers provide activities that allow for optimum development of a child's IMAGINATION, INITIATIVE and
AUTONOMY. We feel these areas of development need to be utilized to the maximum during the years from three to six.
Our
Goals and Objectives
•
To help children develop a positive self image.
• To give children a foundation for future learning.
•
To meet children's needs as individuals and as a group.
• To encourage children to develop a positive attitude
towards teachers, school and learning.
• To provide opportunities for children to develop their "whole selves"
socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively and creatively.
• To encourage children to express themselves through
materials, movement and language by providing ample time and adequate opportunities.
• To develop an appreciation
of music through use of musical instruments, creative movement and song.
• To encourage appreciation of art by use
of many mediums, tools and freedom of expression.
To develop emotionally and socially through constructive co-active
play and positive conflict resolutions.
