Weekly Lessons; what is the difference between a Reading and a Gospel?

On Sunday we generally have three readings. Traditionally they were called: “Old Testament, Epistle” (as in one of Paul's epistles) and “The Gospel” (Matt, Mark, Luke or John.) Now they are often called: 1st lesson, second lesson and Gospel or sometimes just refferred to as "readings", however, they still come from the same parts of the Bible.

Scripture reading refers to any biblical passage and Gospel is to be reserved for the four gospels. (Matt, Mark, Luke or John.)
