Everyone has been asking how many we did, so here it is. ARE YOU READY??? (Because I'm in shock!!!) We donated 955 PAIR!! Our biggest year yet. Thanks to all of the "helpful hands" who participated and/or donated to this project!! Watch for the year-end letter for details as to where they all went and will hope to see you all again in 2009. "Flannel Frenzy", our annual fabric-buying day, will be the day after Thanksgiving (assuming JoAnn's has their flannel on sale for 99 cents/yd again.Send up some prayers! If you are available to get up EARLY and be part of a 3 member team to buy about 500 yards of flannel, let me know!! Sherie Whiting September 21, 2008 PJ Project Work Day this Saturday the 27th from 10 am to 4 pm in the Family Center! Come for an hour or the day! It will be our LAST CUTTING DAY! We also need Crafters (you qualify if you can handle a gluestick) and Ironers (bring your own iron and ironing board). SEWERS! LOTS of kits available and due back Oct 18th (25th at the latest). Use them to give to friends who may be willing to make donations for our shopping trip the day after Thanksgiving. (Looks like we'll be needing another 3000 yards!) August 30th, 2008 It was a great Saturday with some Girl Scouts coming in and creating a lot of noise and excitement. With the drop-in help today, we cut and packaged for sewing, 127 PJ Kits which is near our one day record of 134! Thank you all and we look forward to seeing you in September and October as we attempt to break last years record! Oh, Men are welcome and, apparently, make good cutters!
August 11, 2008 LAST PJ WORKDAYS for 2008 are Aug. 30, Sept. 27, Oct 18 & Oct. 25. Bethlehem Lutheran Church Family Center 10A to 4P. SEWERS, if at all possible, please return completed kits and kits you don't have time to sew by Oct 18. Aug 30 & Sept 27, Lunch is Provided. Last cutting days! Come & help us meet last-minute requests. CRAFTERS, if you can use a glue stick, we've got work for you. Kids of all ages welcomed! IRONERS, we got a great start but still have LOTS of ironing to do. Bring your iron & ironing board. Oct. 18 & 25, Lunch is Provided. SEWERS, CRAFTERS & IRONERS We'll keep on working. SANTA'S HELPERS, Fill a PJ order for one of our agencies ALL HELPFUL HANDS welcome. We were awesome!! Thanks to all who participated. Just a reminder that we are starting to cut flannel and assemble patterns this Saturday from 10 to 4 in the Family Center at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Lunch will be provided. SEWERS!! I have 4 sergers available for your use! Commit to sewing 35 to 50 pair and use it for 1 year. It takes only 1 1/4 hours to sew a pair of PJs using this technique. Call me if you are interested.
